FAQ
Answers to the questions our B2B customers ask most often about PCB assembly, quality, materials and logistics.

Quoting & ordering
A bill of materials (BOM) with manufacturer part numbers, Gerber or ODB++ data, a pick-and-place (centroid) file, the assembly drawing and the expected quantities per batch and per year. Test requirements, coating or box-build drawings help us quote the complete service. A complete data set lets us return a quote within [3–5] working days.
Yes. Prototypes and small series run on the same Mycronic SMT line as volume production, so the transition from prototype to series needs no re-qualification. There is no minimum order quantity; pricing reflects setup time.
Prototypes and quick-turn batches: [5–10] working days after material is available. Series production: [3–4] weeks, agreed per project. Component availability is usually the critical path, so we recommend releasing the BOM early.
Yes. For recurring products we agree an annual framework with scheduled call-offs. This lets us secure long-lead components in advance and keep a safety stock of finished assemblies if required.
Yes. We sign a mutual NDA before receiving any technical data. Customer files are stored on our own servers in Slovenia (EU) and are never shared with third parties beyond qualified sub-suppliers needed for the job (e.g. PCB fabrication), who are bound by the same confidentiality.
Production capabilities
01005 (0.4 × 0.2 mm) with ±0.01 mm placement accuracy. Our SMT pick-and-place line handles up to 54,000 components per hour, components up to 75 × 75 mm, PCB thickness from 50 µm to 4.2 mm and panels up to 500 × 400 mm.
Reflow in vacuum vapor phase (Galden, ~230 °C, voiding below 5 %), wave soldering, selective soldering and controlled manual soldering for through-hole parts with large terminals or high thermal mass. All processes are in-house, so mixed SMT/THT boards never leave our factory.
Yes. Beyond the PCBA we assemble complete units: enclosures, cable harnesses, displays, labelling and packaging, including firmware programming and final functional test. You receive a finished, tested product ready for your customer.
Yes, both in-house. Boards are cleaned before coating; the coating type (acrylic, polyurethane, silicone) and masking areas follow your drawing. Typical use: outdoor, automotive, medical and industrial electronics exposed to humidity or condensation.
Yes. We program microcontrollers and memories in-line or on the test bench, and serialise every unit with a 2D code marked directly on the PCB – not a label – so traceability survives cleaning and coating. Serial numbers can follow your numbering scheme.
Rigid, flex and rigid-flex boards, single-sided to complex multilayer, from 50 µm foils up to 6.0 mm thick boards, panels up to 508 × 508 mm at printing. Fine-pitch BGA, QFN, LGA and 01005 are standard.
Quality & testing
Our quality management system is certified by TÜV ([ISO 9001:2015]). Assembly is done to IPC-A-610 class [2/3] by IPC-certified specialists. Luznar holds the AAA platinum creditworthiness rating.
Every board passes 3D automated optical inspection (15 MP, 10 µm resolution) after reflow; BGA and hidden joints are checked by X-ray. Results are stored per serial number. Solder paste printing is verified before placement, so defects are caught at the source, not at the end.
Yes. We run customer-supplied test benches and procedures in-house and record the result for every board against its serial number. If you have no tester yet, we can propose a functional test or flying-probe/ICT solution together with our partners.
Per serial number we can trace the production date, SMT line and programme, solder paste batch, inspection results, test results and – for safety-critical projects – component lots. Reports are available on request or as part of the shipping documentation.
Components & materials
Both models work. Turnkey: we procure PCBs and components from authorised distributors and manage shortages and alternatives with you. Consigned: you deliver the material and we assemble. Mixed arrangements (e.g. you supply critical ICs) are common.
We flag lifecycle and lead-time risks when we review your BOM, propose form-fit-function alternatives for your approval and, for framework orders, can buy ahead and stock critical parts. Our automated component storage tower keeps reels in controlled conditions with full stock visibility.
From qualified PCB fabricators in Europe and Asia, selected per project by technology, quantity and lead time. Our CAM team prepares the customer panel (UcamX), so the panel is optimised for our line before fabrication starts.
Yes. Custom magnetics and cable assemblies are made to your drawing by our qualified partners and integrated into the assembly or box-build.
Logistics, sustainability & partnership
Kranj, Slovenia (EU), 25 km from Ljubljana airport and on the main road corridor to Austria, Italy and Germany. Shipments go by parcel or pallet with the carrier of your choice; EU customers have no customs formalities. Consignment stock or scheduled deliveries can be agreed.
Yes – 100 % of the electricity used in production comes from renewable sources, partly from our own photovoltaic plant. We publish our daily and cumulative CO₂ savings on the Sustainability page.
Industrial automation, medical devices, automotive, aerospace, energy and metering, telecommunications, IoT and consumer products – ten sectors in total. Since 1985 we have grown with customers who need reliable series production, not just the lowest unit price.
Send your data package to info@luznar.com or book a meeting through the website. We review the design for manufacturability, return a quote and – for new customers – usually start with a prototype or pilot batch before series production.
